Ian's 80Cm (Hc Gone, Moss Added)

This looks exciting...you don't hang about once you've decided on a project, do you?

Loving those red plants. Only red plant I've tried to grow is Rotala rotundifolia, but I haven't enough light to keep it from reverting to green. :(

One day...

The A. rosefolia should stay red under that lighting. My tanks had less and mine were very red. Interesting scape, like Andy says, a sort of marriage of the two styles.

I'll miss the trigon.

Can't believe 2 pages of journals happened without me noticing. Though you did tell me about the tank. There are simply not enough hours in the day.

haha sorry llj, i have been in and out of posting the last few days. I should have dropped you a PM, my bad.

thanks for the compliments guys!

here's a quick pic from tonight, with a back light in the cabinet.

even though they are only 25w T8's it seems to be pearling really quickly!

You did drop me a PM. I just didn't have time to check. You said you were selling the trigon and getting a rimless, you just hadn't gotten it yet and I haven't been out of the Salty section long enough to check the journals here. No, you PM'd me. :good:

I've been in and out too. Work's been rough.

Haha, backlit, ala Andy!

It looks quite cool in real life, with the light on.

I will have to check your SW journals out!

Nice scape dude, I'll upload a pic of Cuban Stream tomorrow, the carpet is really lush now and it's like a mirror image of yours lol. :)

Funny too as I'm wiring up an led rig behind my scape to dim down as switching the light straight off makes the lamp eyes jump lol.

cheers Steve, can't wait to see the pics!

With having the mature filter on and daily (large) water changes, i went down to MA tonight and picked up something a little different. I was a bit fed up with the norm Tetras, so went for a small school of these...

they look freakin awesome! They behave very different too.

I was looking at these too. Their colours are fantastic! And that was just in the dealer tank!

the colours were a little disappointing when i got them back...they have now coloured up well, and they get better with age. :good:

I only got 8, i might get a few more...i don't want to heavily stock this tank. It would be easy to make this tank look over stocked. I'm leaving the Rams at the LFS for a little longer, they are quite sensitive.

But the Rams will definately be going back in... won't they? :look:

I would stick with the 8 for now and see how they grow. Less is more with specialist planted scapes like yours.

Yeah, it is, less is more lol. I'm really thinking not to put the Rams back in now. I'm not sure i can trust them around a HC carpet at the moment. It's a friends LFS, so they are in the display tank at present. So they are happy.

ps I'm going to scaping that tank after Christmas, not that'll be a challenge.

Were you friends before? Or just since you spent so much in there?
