I Was Very Naughty Today..........

I went to my LFS this afternoon, needed to get a few things. Not only did I leave with just 1 thing on my list but I left with 6 harlequin rasboras and 4 copper rasboras

Not sure how that worked out but they are every so purteeyyyyy

I'm happier with my tank now, that I have some shaoling fish. Might sound silly but something wasn't sitting right but now it is

I saw some lampeyes and WOW, they are amazingly beuatiful, when the light hits them but alas, rasboros won my heart.

I used to have some lamp-eyes but my water quality was horrendous a while ago and they all died, shame really as I used to love seeing their little eyes shining.

I have Harlequins nowand love the way they`re always together. I think they`re another underrated fish to be honest.

I've had an eye on rosboros for a month or so now. I figured my apistos are settled in and thought I could get away with them being in there and not upsetting. But they are amazing little fishies x

Very nice, Beth! Lovely looking tank.

Hope you don't get any problems from introducing too many new fish in one go. Did you quarantine them first? If not, you might want to keep a check on your ammonia levels over the next week or so, just to be sure they don't spike.

I have harlequins, too, and yes they are super little fish and quite eye-catching amongst all the greenery.

Depending on the size of your tank, I'm surprised you did not either get ~8 Harlequins or ~12 hengeli (I'm presuming that's what you mean by "copper"), as both look stunning in bigger groups (not to mention these are fish that find security in numbers).

both sets of fish had been in QT for 4 weeks in my LFS, a buyer had purchased a whole group of coppers and harlequins, paid a deposit on them and never showed (specifically shipped in for him). The manager had called him the other day, he said he was no longer interested and didn't want a deposit refund (only £30 I think). I know the manager and fully trust this LFS, so putting them straight in to the community shouldn't be an issue. She gave me 6 harlequins, £1.00 each and threw in 4 coppers for free.

She also said that if there are any left in 3 weeks, I can have them for trader's price.

I can't sing this lfs's praises loud enough, it's not a big place, only 20 tanks but the quality, superb. She tanks in from UK local breeders, most of the time. She will also order in for customers.

I currently have 4 female guppies, who are all dropping fry like no tomorrow I'm giving them to the same LFS that I got the rasboras from, in a few weeks (once she has a couple of spare tanks free). Once guppies have gone (bar 1 female), I may thinka bout getting more rasboras, as in previous post x

Thanks, had a light issue, up until last Friday. My bulbs died, ordered online and it took them 9 days longer than they promised, to deliver, tank was out of light for a good 14 days. So had some recovery to do but getting back on track now.
