I Need Ideas For Aquascaping My New Tank...

Here is the tank now. I'm getting a soild black background. Besides that I don't know what to do. I might add more plants. I need ideas Im running out of some.

im really liking planted tanks at the moment so

i recon will look good with heavily planted back with either one big interesting piece of wood in the middle or two smaller ones and then just some small grass like plants round the front of the wood (not good with plant names hope you know what i mean)

I should say that the tank is for SA Cichlids that dig and like to snack on some plants. So a heavily planted tank will not work. I wil add another sward plant. I have another one my 36 gal that is planted and I'm thinking of adding a green carpet. I like your idea for my other tank.

I bought a large sword plant for the tank it's 22" high. When the snow melts I will look for more larger rocks. I'm still on the look out for a good chunk of wood. I hate buying wood but all I have around me are pine trees no oak or maple.

I found a good deal on a 16"-22" chunk of Malaysian wood. I'm thinking of buying it.

I'd say you're thinking too small. 'I bought a large sword plant'-you want 10 large sword plants!
Having little bits of all different things all over makes it look busy. You want a massive piece of wood about 2/3 length of the tank and almost as high. I like redmoor wood as it's more branchy and so not as dense as bogwood etc.
Plant your plants in groups too, don't spread them out. A bunch and some bare space will look better than plants spread out to fill the space.

I would go for a lot more plants, although some wood to break up the hard lines of the rocks would be nice too.
