I Need Help With Setting Up Two Aps Filters

Interesting. Unsure how it goes up like that. Obviously something that needs to be asked of the water supplier.

Good test mate, I like it!

Just wondering on a side note, how is a raise of Ph from 6.6 to 7.6 explained without any chemicals. Is it that the water suppliear adds CO2 to the tap water that evaporates over time or is there any other reason?
That is very possible. If you want more details on hoe that works then have a look in the planted section - some of the co2 threads will deal with it :good:

I cant think of any good reason to add Co2 to mains supplied water....

Well, I know that adding CO2 drops the Ph, and it works the other way around.

But why is my tap water changing the Ph value with a whole point overnight, if not CO2.

I mean, the tanks water, the test water with no dechlorinator, or anything else added, and the "Bio balls" water all go to the same colour after a certain period of time. This can't be related to minerals, so could it be CO2 evaporating?

I have also not seen any stress from the fish if I do a large water change, which leads me to believe it is indeed CO2 related.

Or can it be something else?

dunno, but like i said, no good reason to add it, in fact i can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that your water supplier wont be adding co2. probably.

When I was running a CO[sub]2 [/sub]bubbler (before most of my plants died off following a major money issue preventing the purchase of ferts), my Rio240's water dropped from pH 8.2 to ~7.4 @ ~30 bubbles per min (kH 11 gH 14). So given your tank's natural pH is 7.6, your hardness buffers are probably lower, so CO[sub]2 [/sub]could feasibly drop the pH by a whole degree.

I need to by KH test asap.
Just to update that APS never got back to me on the second e-mail. Maybe because I demanded a yes or no answer

Yesterday I was staring at half through submitted order online for a hydor koralia evolution 2800 and I was sitting and thinking, and thinking whether to buy it or not, until I accidentally pushed the submit button. So it's done.
The reason I was initially thinking of buying it is that the tank is very deep by design and I noticed that there is a dead spot on the left side where the outlet of the APS doesn't blow, and although there is no fish, it seems roots and small particles have found their comfy new home at this corner.
So is a hydor koralia evolution 2800 not a bit too strong? The external APS filter outlet is blowing at the surface from left to right and the hood filter outlets are blowing downards at the back as I removed the ugly sprayers.
Any advise how to improve the flow? Tank is 330 litre APS, L120/W47.7/H75.5 cm.

snazy, are you currently using any spraybar modules on the APS filter? When we had the real world filter turnover thread going in here last summer, the flow of my 5x2x2 2000EF was boosted by something like 200 to just over 1200lph by completely doing away with all spraybar modules. The u-bend rests on its side on the glass rim, with the open end dropping down in the rimless corner and just one of those 90 degree connectors in place to then fire the returning water across the surface.

As to whether the Koralia 2800 will be too strong, that will depend on what fish are in your 330l, but these powerheads do spread their output nice and wide, so it should be fine.

Right now I have my Eheim 2078 filter (~1100lph) and the internal Juwel filter (~1000lph) running on my Rio240, but last summer while not using the Juwel filter I thought nothing of running my Koralia 1 (~1500lph) powerhead in there, sometimes without the front attachment (more spherical dispersion) and sometimes with (more directional concentrated flow plus the grill gaps reduce the chances of fish swimming into the impeller).
In my 5x2x2, I have the APS2000EF(~1200lph), FX5 (~2300lph) and up until recently an Aqua Medic Nanoprop 5000 powerhead (2000-5000lph, always set at max). On paper, that sounds like an awful lot of turnover (~8800lph, 16x), but there are still some pretty large areas around the tank bottom that are very calm, amongst the bogwood and artificial plants.

I removed the spray bar as per previous advise from BigbruiserAl. The flow on the surface seems strong enough now(who knows what will happen in a couple of months), but because of the u-bend on the outlet to direct the flow at the surface towards the right of the tank, the area on the left side of the tank, beneath doesn't seem to be getting too much movement(plant debris gathering there)

What do you think would be the best position for that powerhead, attach it on the glass on the left side of the tank and point it down towards the dead spot, which hopefully will blow the dirt closer to the two filter inlets on the right side?
My fish are small though, so I hope the powerhead is not too strong for them, but if the tank is getting dirty with no fish, imagine when the pleco and all the rest of the crew moves in

I still haven't received this powerhead

Received the hydor koralia evo 2800 pump yesterday.
I tried to position it at the top left back side of the tank, but it started rescaping my sand
So now it is at the very top left side, at the front of the tank blowing towards the right.
Without fish inside it is hard to decide where to put it to actually be beneficial, and also avoid the plants from getting a wind storm.

The only thing is, the space between grills of the powerhead are big enough, hopefully fish will not swim against it as a guppy can easilty get his head sucked in.
I've been reading online(hopefully doesn't happen to me) that they may start working in reverse flow

That powerhead is mentally large for a tropical, i got two of the Hydor nanos at 900lph in my 5 footer and they cause more than enough hastle with sand as it is :D

Yeah, it maybe a bit strong. I won't know until there is fish in getting blown all over the place
For now it seems ok blowing from left to right at the front of the tank.
