I love my gouramis what lovely pretty friendly fish ;) I have a honey red and a neon blue both male so I was told. both of them keep themselves to themselves actually ive not seen them go near each other even. the honey one was timid and didnt feed for several days when I got him home tho now he is happy to join in with all the others. when I was shopping for my first ever tropical fish I was told to keep males together once I added a female it would cause problems competition etc but I was wondering can I add more males one day? they are dwarf gouramis. what other colour dwarf are there? I can only seem to find these blue colbolt and lemon thanks x

You're talking about 2 different species of Gouramis, Dwarf Gouramis & Honey Gouramis are not the same. The Dwarf is Trichogaster Chuna & The Honey is Trichogaster Colisa or Colisa Lalia. Both are great additions to any aquarium but I'm afraid 2 males will eventually, more than likely fight.

oh I don't really understand the names ill look into it when I get online but does it mean that the honey isn't a dwarf? x

Coorrect, the Honey is a Honey & the Dwarfs, are well, Dwarfs

Completely different but both go well in mnost aquariums. The fact that you have 2 males is the scary part. How large is the tank? Maybe you could add a couple of Dwarf females & a couple of Honey females to g ive each their own harem?

You've got that back to front!

Honey gouramis are Trichogaster chuna or Colisa chuna or occasionally Colisa sota ; dwarf gouramis are Colisa lalia.

That what's happens when you sneak in posts when you're supposed to be doing work for your company.................shh! Don't tell anyone. :good:

I hate gouramis. I had one years ago, I took it from a friend as it was terrorising all their fish. I had to put it in with my 8 - 10 " green terror and a fire eel. It bullied my green terror and bit lumps out of it. The gourami was only about 2" max too  put me off them for life

I'm like "Gourami Man" but I know what you mean. Male Three Spots can be wicked.
