I was wondering if the "less" aggressive side of the Mbuna cichlids could be mixed with my bichirs......

I tried asking in the "Old World Cichlids" forum but did not really get many responses other than portaining to the diet differences.. I think I can figure out how to feed the bichirs their foods (in their caves) while keeping the cichlids away ....

I was looking to stock:

Yellow Lab (Labidochromis caeruleus)
Pseudotropheus Acei (Pseudotropheus acei)
Rusty Cichild (Iodotropheus Sprengerae)
Pseudotropheus Saulosi (Pseudotropheus Saulosi)

and want to know if they would mix well with both of my Senegal Bichirs (Polypterus senegalus senegalus) they are 6 and 8 inches ........

What do yall think

My Senegalus mixes it up with my Geophagus Brasilliensis and Angels at feeding time. No issues there

Mine is not one for hiding though. He spends 90% of his time swimming about and nosing through the sand.

You Senegalus will get involved with the others at feeding time when hungry!

Well, my thing is that I could care less if the bichirs eat the cuchlid food. As long as I can figure out to feed the bichirs at the same time so the cichlid arent eating their food. (like feeding them in caves or something at the same time so they are distracted).... I just down want them to get the dreaded "Mbuna Bloat" that I have been reading about when they eat too much protein....
