hi every one this is a very good question: what it the best pet to have for company??????????

I say cats as they cuddle you have a personality and welcome you home( well mine does)
and they are easy to keep not like dogs havin to take them on walks and wash them having to take them to the vets because theyv eatern a toy
i think cats what do you think?????????????????????????????????????????

parrots (large or small) - they may be very demanding and extremely loud on occasions but you couldnt ask for a more intelligent non human friend for company.

the smaller species dont. but macaws for instance, in the wild, pair up for life - so they become very attatched to their owners and enjoy a lot of contact. larger species have the emotional development of a 3yr old child and thats why so many parrots end up with behavioural problems when their owner dies or sells them on.

even parrots as small as budgies like to preen their owners eyebrows and hair as a sign of affection.

every pet has something different to offer, but parrots (with proper care) have much more to offer than just 'cuddles' in my opinion. :)

fare enough i have not got a parot  so i do not what they are like but from what i have heard they are very nice

Well, dogs of course for cuddles! :D My dogs are very cuddly and affecionate. But i'd have to agree with parrots as companions. They are VERY loyal and affectionate! Mine even come into bed with me and go to sleep on my pillow - Its SO cute!!

I find my cats too aloof to be cuddly

Definately chickens. If you raise them from chicks, especially, though any chicken can be a wonderful pet with proper socialization. Being very flock-oriented, they will follow you around 24-7, hop into your lap, preen your hair, sit next to you to watch TV or relax in the yard, and you can't even TRY to keep 'em away when the food comes out ;) Unlike parrots, they have very stable moods, and seldom nip. They also do not attach to only one person and despise everyone else. I love parrots and have two myself, but occasionally they go through these crazy mood swings out of the blue. Love 'em to death, but in my mind, they're no competition with a chicken for stability, gentleness, quiet, and affection.

Having once had a chicken that was attached to me, I have to disagree. It's not so much fun to have a rooster trying to hump your head and spur your face as you run screaming around in circles in the yard....

Cuddly wise, I would say dog or cat, although I have had some very affectionate mice, gerbils, etc. Personally I would have to say dog, because I'm one of those people who cuddles rough, so I need something that can handle rough housing hugs and kisses.

Well I choose cats. For one they like to cuddle, and they sleep with you. But when mine comes in my room it jumps on the bed and starts trying to wake me up by biting my ear. But then if you sit on them or rollover when you sleep there going to scratch you. :X

Nijasmurf - that made me laugh out loud. Sound like he really liked you. Though I must honestly say, for all of the hens and roosters that have shared my home, including the ones I hand raised, none have ever been aggressive or sexual towards me. I've definately been clawed and humped more by cats, dogs, parrots, and rabbits than chickens. In fact, I've only encountered one truly brutal, aggressive rooster in my life, and that says a lot, considering how many roosters I've worked with at sanctuaries (including ex fighting cocks!) The rooster in question is Nuru (New 'Roo) at Farm Sanctuary. Not exactly sure why, but the boy is brutally protective of his hens. The other roosters would give you a dirty look if you happened to spook or hassle one of their ladies. Nuru would take a flying leap-tackle at your shins and leave you bleeding.

dogs definately come first for me.
i would love a parrot. i have a budgie though and he is VERY affectionate. never bites, always well behaved (although he doesnt really like people he doesnt know, he gets a little shy lol) and great to talk to :p

Large animals - It's definitely dogs for me, some cat's don't like being held.
Small animals - My favourites are hamsters & chins but don't like being cuddled. Easiest ones for cuddling are guniea pigs & they never bite.
