How'd He Get In There?

I rinsed my plant in hot tap water... Yet I have this tiny snail in my tank. Wouldn't crush the little guy, cause he has one of my favorite shell shapes. X) He grew a bit since last time I saw him, but is still small. I hope he grows as big as the ones I saw at the lake.

Just live with him then, but you'll probably get more as OldMan47 said above. They can breed on their own!
Yeah, now if they find any food except the dropped leaves (which I clean anyway when I change the water), they'd be lucky. The fish eat everything that drops. Probably the reason why the snail usually hangs around the filter instead of roaming the tank most of the time.

I'm sure they can survive on algae and other nutrients that naturally occur - they won't starve and disappear - well mine never have unless I've got it wrong.
Well, what harm can they do though if they're small? If they get huge, yeah they might be overcrowding and I'd keep maybe 2 at most, but if they just stay tiny only thing I hope is that my plant won't go bye bye.

If you read above everyone has said that they won't do 'any harm'. Its just that they can overrun and make the tank unsightly.

I thought I was still talking to the original person who started the post. Must read more carefully myself - didn't see it had changed!

Thanks for the info though. X)

Buy some assassin snails off eBay. They are yellow and black like bumble bees and will demolish all the rogue snails in your tank plus they don't eat plants I have a squad of 8 assassins in my tank and have not seen a plant snail for months!!!

You all have great opinions... I found him again, and I did crush him, what happens to the shell?
