hey so i am interested in a fish (Fairy Cichlid - Neolamprologus brichardi) that likes a ph of around 8-9.0 ano its really high  but the thing is i have a ph of 6.8 !!! i was wondering if any of you guys could help me out by telling me how i can raise my ph by adding something natural or even a product that is good for raising the ph

i was looking into API cichlid buffer and i am rather confused how you would use it like ratios could someone help me out on this please

Thanks

Crushed coral substrate, ocean rock, limestone rocks etc etc. :good:

Seachem African Rift Lake salts 'sound' as if they would do this for you from reading their marketing bumph.

thanks mate have been looking all night on something and you summed it all up in a few words !!

this is what i have found on it

All doses given for 40 L (10 gallons*). TANGANYIKA: Use 11 g (1.5 teaspoons). MALAWI: Use 5.5 g (3/4 teaspoons). VICTORIA: Use 3.6 g (1/2 teaspoon). pH BUFFERING: Seachem’s Tanganyika Buffer™ (pH 9.0–9.4) and Malawi/Victoria Buffer™ (pH 7.8–8.4) should be used to adjust carbonate hardness and pH. TIPS: Use when setting up an aquarium and when making water changes. To add salt to an established tank, base dose on water being changed. Do not use salt when simply replacing evaporated water. It is best to dissolve the salt in freshwater before use.

also what is the difference between the salt and the buffer ? ?

Your videos are really good! I have watched them all, you deserve way more subscribers :)
WOW thanks ! i get kinda nervous making them tho thats why i havnt made any in a while but i will start doing them more regular again ! thanks again

Unsure what the difference is, I think the salts claim to replicate the natural water conditions of the rifts, but, in reality, I would say that a bit of ocean rock or crushed coral would do the trick. The fish you will buy will more than likely be tank bred so spot on water is never really going to be an issue.

Also, as a side note, have a look into the fairies cousins, the daffodils. Pulcher are imo the better choice due to their enhanced colours. Just my personal preference though.
I started out with a group of fairies, and in fact went to see them the other night at the persons house who had them off of me. He has had shed loads of fry from them.
