how old do platies have to be in to breed?

i have 6 platy fry in my fry tank at the moment.
they are about 2 months old.
i was looking at one of them today and she looks definatly pregnant.
i would have thought she was way to small.
but i guess i was wrong.
so at what age to they start breeeding?

mine were a bit older than that when they started to breed .....bout 4 - 5 months old
