How much would you pay for a fish.

The most I've paid thusfar is $15 each for 3 Synodontis Petricola, but I'd pay quite a bit if I was looking for a particular fish.

Tank setup generally costs much more than stocking anyway. Even getting high quality mbuna/catfish stock for my 75g only ran me around $300. That's less than half of my other setup costs.

I payed $25 each for my discus for a total of $175.
thats a really good pricw. The cheapest they are around here is 50 and they go on up to around 150

The most one of my fish cost us was $25, a rip off price for my purple spotted gudgeon -_- That store loves over pricing the fish they get, which are usually awesome ones!

I guess I'm the odd one out!!

I paid £350 for my arowana (dragon fish) mines a Red tail gold...as seen in my sig!

and have bought many plecs up to £45.
Very Nice asian paul. I would love to have a asian red arow but they are illegal here in the U.S. n i dont kno y.

I have paid $50 for each of my discus at 2.5" I have 6 in my tank right now so lets just say it took a big chunk out of my bank account.

I reckon i would pay up to 50-75 Aus dollars for a fish, but ojnly if i had perfict water params and it had a warranty. Lol. But for a fish i really wanted, yeah, quite a bit. But i dont think 1800 pounds would go down to good with the bank account!

The most I've paid for a fish is $3.84 (USD).
I like to think of myself as a fish rescuer (I know, I know - when I buy them, they replace them with another poor little guy) - BUT... I cruise thru the betta section at WalMart and pick up some poor lost soul staring at me pleadingly.

I can't imagine how terrified I would be to have a fish that was really expensive.

PBF - LOVE that avatar.
probably the coolest one i've seen to date.
(that's not a beauty of a fish one, anyway)

:)

It adds up... I paid $300 for my green asian aro (couldn't bring myself to drop $900 on a RTG) and $5-$100 for my bichirs.

I am looking getting a Synodontis euperus atm....they are $50 each!!!
OMG. i thought 15 for a 6 incher was a lot. They are usually like 9$

Um, so when you spend nearly 1000$ on a fish, do you take out insurance on the little guy?

I would not be able to sleep at night with a fish like that in my tank for fear that the electricity would go out in the middle of the night, and he'd get too cold or not enough air - or the boogeyman would kidnap him for ransom....
