How much would you pay for a fish.

well, they sell arowana at my lfs for $20 us, and they will even give you a discount if you go there enough :D
These expensive arowana's aren't just any old species, there on the endangered fish list. Mine was bred in captivity, you also get a certificate with it and the fish is chipped.

£320 for mine was a steal with most of them going for £600+ in shops.

the cheap aro's will just be silvers.

I really would of thought some of your fish would cost more CFC!!

Paid £28 for a leopard frog plec yesterday.

I keep watching it to make sure it doesn't go belly up!

Hubby nearly had a fit, but I told him he got off lightly because I really wanted a Zebra Plec and they were £110 each

 long post.
most i've spent on fish is a dwarf gourami (flame) $9.50 AUS..good quality stuff :)

I just remembered...there was a royal plec on the other side of the country that I REALLY wanted (royal plecs are illegal in Australia)....the guy wanted $2500 for it....

The fish would have been in transit for 2 days....including a long road trip and a long air trip....

IMAGINE if it died :AAGGHH

unless your oscar was quite a size you got ripped off!!!
Darn!!!!!!! I got 2 @ the same time.... they didn't look too healthy, i felt sorry for them and had to get them just to get them away from that lfs..... 1 survived and is now getting on really well..... looking at him now i'd say he was well worth the money!

At the moment I won't spend much because if my tank wasn't cycled properly and it died, my mum would go on the warpath....

the most i have spent on a fish was £140 for a stingray (developed fin curl and died was devastated it was not anyones fault just did not like the move from wild to captivity ) :sly: so i took him back got store credit

The thing is when asian aros were listed as endangered, they actually were endangered. Now all asian aros on the market are farm bread in Asia. The population is on the rise again, too bad its still illegal for those of you in the states.
