most of mine being completely out of natural sunlight, I don’t have to work around that… I definitely don’t like to take pictures at feeding time, as the fish are typically on a feeding frenzy, and move around too much, so I typically take most of my pictures before I feed, in the morning, or just before I turn off the main lights, at night… how about you???

Nope. Not currently. My 80 litre aquarium is halfway down the room with a dark'ish background added, only currently use my phone to photograph. My small initial quarantine tank is awaiting adding shrimp, does get some natural daylight, as well as a small light added above. Good for getting algae and having a few plants in there.

I have recently dug out my 'good' camera, so maybe once I have re-learned the setting for taking adequate pics, that may change, possibly, but possibly not.

I have to time it for glare on the glass from windows, so that puts me into evenings or early mornings.

I, opposite from @Magnum Man, enjoy photographing my fish when they eat, solely because of the color "pop" on some of my species (specifically my invnacara adoketas). This of course comes with the penalty of an excess visibility of beefheart, but I'll have enough storage for any kinds of photos (feeding or not) assuming I delete screenshots of useless online listings to make room...

When my 3 Empire Gudgeons reach maturity and show off their reds and yellows more, I'll undoubtably desire for clearer photos.

I like to photograph when sunlight illuminates the tank.
