Hi, all. I've got a 26 gallon peaceful community aquarium that is fairly well stocked, though I certainly have room for a couple of fish, if I decided I had to have them. My question--I was browsing eBay last night and came across these guppies--Purple Moscow Guppies--that I thought to be beautiful. I'd love to have a single male (rather than the 5-pack), so I sent a question to the seller inquiring as to whether I might be able to buy only one. How much would you be willing to spend on a single guppy? The shipping alone is $17. My husband thinks I've lost it if I'm willing to pay $32 for "a $3 fish." Thoughts?

It is a question each of us answer for ourselves cupcake. As far as fancy guppies, I would tend to agree with your husband but, and this is a big but, I am attending the American Livebearer Association convention this weekend and at today's auction I watched people pay as much as $200 for some unique and hard to find fish. These were not guppies but other similar sized fish that just happen to be very much in demand and very hard to find. By comparison a $32 guppy looks cheap but the highest I saw at a live auction for a pair of guppies was only about $50. Please don't take this wrong. Many of the people at the auction are truly addicted to their hobby and really don't care what it costs to get their next fix acquisition.
