How Many Do You Have?

so im becoming terribly obsessed with bettas, and i dont even own one yet. i have even had two dreams this week alone about them!!!

i can see from this forum that they can become addictive, but how addictive? how many do you have??
i dont want to go and buy one, then another and another and become overrun with bettas!! i know myself, i just wouldnt be able to say no!

When I first started with Bettas, I got a wikkid bright red and black CT, then we got a few vts, then we got 6 girls..

Back then we had something like 16 of them.

We had a lot go on at home so broke out of them for a while, but then we met Netty. In a month we've gone from 0 to 7, 8th to be added at the weekend and I have another female at Nettys too. I'd never had a spawn before, but I will be spawning this time, possibly two lot's too. So many more to come hehe.

Bettas are about as addictive as snakes - very!

At the moment I have 4 but Maddie is taking one so that will be 3 I try and control myself by only buying exceptional ones! although I love all the others and its difficult to do!

i have 4, 3 VT male and a female PK, am currently conditioning my short tailed VT and the PK so hopefully more on the way, also have 2 tanks sitting empty

Yes they are addictive fish these little bettas. You just want to collect them all. I have 5 females and 2 males. The girls are all in a 36 Gal tank. Mr sexy the one in my photo is in a 5 Gal. Cooda a CT is in a 2.5 Gal .

I have been keeping bettas for over 10 years. Before these fish I had 6 at a time all in separate tanks. before that I kept 3 at a time.

They are an addiction.

maybe i should keep away from them then. my partner is getting moody as i already have 11 tanks squished into a tiny appartment. then again he probably wouldnt notice some smaller ones between the big ones!

haha you can never have enough tanks though, i have 8 set up and 2 sitting empty, 4 with bettas the rest guppies/platies communities etc, the parents hate it

Picking up two tanks after work tomorrow, that'll make five including the wife's. One 3 footer and four 2 footers


We're only renting a flat at the moment, so I can't indulge in any more


Once the housing market has dropped a little more, we'll buy somewhere and have a fish-filled lounge


I'm hoping to make a few tanks myself when the time comes. They will be something special. I've toyed with the idea of a twin bay fronted setup and maybe a few corner setups

Heh, I've only got one at the moment but it's so hard to drag myself away from the Bettas at my LFS and on the internet!

I only have 1 at the moment.
At the most I had 6 at one time.
But unfortunatly a disease spread and all but one (who was in a different tank) died
So yeah... it's VERY difficult to not buy every one that I see whenever we go to Petsmart, VERY hard, but I told myself that I was only going to focus on 1 at a time.
Bettas are definitely "addictive".

I've cut right down but my usual number is around 100 of my own and 50+ for sale and could never ever have enough but space doesn't allow
