how long to cycle tank- losing guppies in old tank

thank you for advice on feeding. i must get used to feeding less. the guppies swim to the top when i walk by, at least i have stopped feeding every time that happens. i ’ve had an aquarium almost all the time since the 90s and i’m definitely old enough to know better- 69. i haven’t ever had so many guppies. my neighbor didn’t want any of my fish back after he had given so many. i have been doing water changes every 2 days hoping to solve the problem. i have used fluval biological cleaner. and very sparingly once in a while Accuclear. do you recommend any cleaning additives?

i live in a very small town- the only pet store is Petco about 30 minutes away. i buy all of my pet supplies for online. i will check on getting some gravel. thanks
