After a successful treatment of ich, all my fish are now well and I am now going to remove the green med stuff. They said active carbon removes this. How long does it take? I'm using a small bag of it in a 35 gal tank. I'm worried that it might take to long and "de-cycle" my tank.

Sorry if the questions seems stupid. :) This is actually the first time I've tried removing meds using active carbon. :D

Carbon is safe to use and is really effective when used when medical treatment has been used. It will not "de-cycle" your tank but I highly recommended you stuff the bag of carbon in your filter and not in the tank itself. Unless that's what you're already doing. It should take a week or so to be 100% sure it's removed.

Phew! That's good to hear.

For a second there, I thought it would be harmful. Yes, the carbon is in the filter and not in the tank itself. At least now, I found a better solution in removing the mod color instead of waiting for the water to evaporate and slowly replacing the lost water with clean one. That took a looooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggg time!
