i would wait, why didnt you put warm water back in to save on time, take some water out and put some hot in, it should raise it a degree or two, but not too much water.

What temp is the the 30 litre tank at? If thats about 19.5 and the fish have gotten used to it then you should be ok. Just raise it back to 25 slowly. If the 30 litre isn't at 19.5 then im would wait as a big temperature change will shock the fish. Like nick said add some hot water may speed it up a bit.

Boil the kettle and use that
NO.
NO.
NO.

If you pour boiling water into a tank, there is a good chance it will crack. VERY BAD IDEA.
You could turn on the kettle for a while until the water is kind of warm, so that you can pour it on your hand and it not hurt, but NEVER BOIL IT.

It's perfectly OK to pour boiling water into the water that is already in the tank, to bump the temp up (providing there's no fish).

It's a stupid thing to do, If a large amount of boiling water went to one side, there is a chance it would crack. It's stupid because you don't even have to do it. Why would anyone take the risk?

Anyway, i just siphoned some water out and then jugged water in from the hot tap. Went up to 25c, acclimatised fish and done!

I just need either:
  • Decor
  • Bogwood

Not sure what to do, ive seen some lightly planted tanks look really good with just some large ornaments, or i could buy the big plant bundles from eBay and get some mopani from P@H.

What do you think?

glass cracks only when it has had water at boiling temperature kept in it for a period of time, and then is suddenly cooled. it will more or less explode. there is nothing wrong with adding boiling water to and aquarium providing it has no fish in it and already has some water in.

Well, this morning, all fish are alive (i dont know if they are well or not..) apart from an ADF that jumped out of the crowded tank. Betta in a bag for 7 hours is perfectly fine.Crap is already filling up on the sand, anyone got any solutions?
