How does your lfs rip you off?

Where i live fish are not that expensive. I think the most money i ever saw for a freshwater fish was like $35 and thats it. The highest saltwater fish was probilly $50 or so. But maybe that is actually high i don't know :grr:

i have one bad LFs where they consistently rip people off. 8$ for a half dollar sized angelfish. most places sell them for 3.

there is one really good lfs and they do have high prices but not necessarily bad. At the quality they are sellin gthese fish at they could be selling them for more. They had synodontis eupterous there for 15$ apiece regardless of if u got a 6" on eor a 1" one. Th epeople there are always willing to cut a deal though.

wow, you guys are making my lfs look like the best place to get good deals. i can get a clown loach for 2 dollar and a bgk for 5, discus for 20, neons, guppies, and corys for 1 dollar, and the best part about this store, is you can make deals with the owner.

well, I noticed yesturady that more prices have changed sence the summer. Angels were orihinally 6-8, but now they dont have any of those ones. The cardinal tetras are 3.45 and the danios were 1.99, they were .39 like a month ago.

minbe sells them for $400, so it is cheaper in that area.

My LFS is great as far as price and condition of the fish. The have a huge selection of plants, fish, equipment, supplies, as well as frogs, newts, and turtles. But sometimes you get a clerk that is kinda cranky there is one I avoid. You have to stand in line to get a clerk so sometimes I say " oh no you were here first" to another customer. But they all have a lot of knowledge.
The other pet store around sells my filter cart. for 9.99 but The Fish Store (tonawanda ) sells it for 2.49. They also aren't afraid to keep harder to sell fish around to satisfy a vast majority of buyers. They once took back 32.00 fish that didn't get along with my other fish for a full refund!!

Mine doesnt really have much plants. If they do they are $5 and up. 30 for java fern because it was on a two inch peice of drift wood!
