I've gotten about 3-4 pregnant platy, they've been like that since like the past two weeks.. every day I check around 5-8 times to see if there are any fry. Also will I be able to see any if I have a 50 gallon tank with 13 fish consist of a black molly, golden twin bar platy, two swordtail platy, two red platy, two mickey mouse platy, three female guppy, a fancy male guppy, and a swordtail.

Another question, I've been noticing my fish have been 'swiping' their bodies against the filter / plants... is this a sign of them getting ich? I see no white dots or anything on their bodies, the water is really clean.

it takes time for fish to give birth, just be patient, sometimes they take a while. another factor is that they are getting eaten. also it might be hard because of the big tank, but just make sure they have alot of cover, to hide from predators. ^^ good luck :]

That doesn't sound like ich but maybe post a question in fish emergencies if you are really worried. But (just so you know) in no way is that an emergency right now.

Snow, another cause of fish acting like that is poor water conditions. Even if the water looks perfect, it can cause fish some troubles if there are ammonia or nitrites in the water. What are your chemical tests telling you the concentrations of ammonia and nitrites are?
