Hood Recommendation?

I purchased a 10 gallon tank today. It seemed like a pretty good deal as it came with the tank, a filter, and a hood. What I didn't totally realize was the incandescent lighting on the hood. It doesn't look so great and there aren't really any bulbs to replace it that I can find. So, does anyone have a recommendation? Also, the internal filter is quite big to be inside the tank, any suggestions for an external one?

Wait, crap, that means I should have just bought the tank alone. Well, as long as my fish are happy. I'll do more research next time

Although it might just be an uncommon size bulb?
Tell you what, why don't you try posting the wattage and socket size for the incandescent bulb( they should be in some bulb replacement directions somewhere on the fixture if nowhere else), and I'll see if I can find a compatible bulb for you.

 As to how exactly that cfl tube would rate as a plant light...
Honestly I'm a lot more confident  with fish than with plants, so maybe someone else here could advise us on that aspect

As to your filter though, while I don't have experience with a lot of brands myself, of the brands i've tried I like the aquaclear line myself, comes with fully customizeable media, and an adjustable (optionally slower) current/flow rate.
