Holes in head?

Hi I think my betta has hole in head disease but I'm not sure. He also has this fiber sort of thing hanging off his gill. I've included some pictures.

Those are sensory pits on his face. Totally normal and great job getting a photo of them!

The fiber looks like a piece of mulm or mucus that got stuck breathing it in. Watch that one though. If its mucus it could be a symptom that something is irritating the gills.
 
I got 5 koi bettas from Petco a couple months ago and one of them had hole in head disease. The first sign was lethargy and swelling/pineconing in the affected area. The lesion went away after a week and fishy made a full recovery. However I don't see any signs of it in your photos.
 
I don't know if I should create a new thread or not but something else has shown up. He has this white/gray growth on one of his ventral fins. It can be seen on both the front and the back of the fin. It looks like a cluster of something. I know the pictures aren't great but it was the best i could do.
