Hole in Head Disease

My Salnini Cichlid has a hole in head disease, he's now in quarantine tank that I treating with API Melafix,. Other than moving to a new tank with better water quality is there anything else I can treat him with.?

Can you post some pictures of it so we can confirm hole in the head disease?

Melafix won't do anything to hole in the head disease caused by a parasite called hexamita. You need metronidazole for advanced cases, and clean water and salt can sometimes cure minor infections. Use 2 heaped tablespoons of rock salt for every 20 litres of tank water. keep salt in there for 2-4 weeks.

Thanks ColinT for your reply, I'm very sure it's HIH a good p[ic is not possible since my quarantine tanbk is a 45 qt tub, but the head cratering is very irregular and looks like all the picutes I've seen of HIH. I'll give the API General Cure a try as well as the salt too. I appreciate you taking the time. Thanks Again.
