Hermit Crab Help Needed

Are Hermit Crabs Sopposed to shed just the leg skin or lose legs? Because this Morning, a leg like thing was sitting under and near each of them!

Did they fight each other? They can also lose legs from the stress of moving from the store but also if the conditions are not right for them they can lose legs as well. Do you have a hygrometer to check the humidity? Also, they can get mites so check for mites moving around on the crab's body. The legs will grow back when the next moult happens. They also need a lot of hiding places if they are fighting each other and maybe more than one food bowl. If it continues then they may have to be separated.
