Umm... I'm no good on these things but I'll have a go. 1 US gallon is roughly 4 litres or so. So you need to make a cube that will hold 4 litres. I think you need to find the cubic root of 4000ml to work out the length of ech side. So thats.... roughly 16cm. I'll check it.... Yey! That works out slightly over 1US gallon. If you want to make it 1 UK gallon, do the same but find the cubic root of 5000ml (I think thats roughly 1UK gallon) which is 17cm. Wow.... My brain must have grown overnight.

Its not nessecarily for fish. It could be for plants :) Oh yeah, just to simplify my calculations-
16cmx16cmx16cm is a 1.08 US gallon tank.
17cmx17cmx17cm is a 1.08 UK gallon tank.

But obviously you'll have to make allowances for sealing it together, etc.

it's for bettas, but might do them 1.5 gallon
If you are making it, why make them so small? You could give them 3-5 each and add a small plant

They'd be much happier and the water quality would be better too.

mine have 2 galls each, it's more a project at making my own tank so thought i'd start small and work my way up. don't worry my babies have plenty of room. the smaller cube idea is a way of housing the babies that i get at about 2.5 months old in a nice little space so they can reach the surface easily and aren't swamped in a big tank
