I have a hk and gh test kit (API) and it tells me to count how many drops it takes to either turn it bright yellow (kh) or from orange to green (gh) it took me 3 drops for the kh test and 8 drops for the gh test...
for some reason i cannot see in the instructions where it tells me how to read it, as in 1 drop = 1' or X ppm?? So im unsure how to tell what my water is doing???
does each drop equal 1' on the chart

any advice would be much apreciated

hopefully somone can help put this headache to and end!

thanks

If I'm not mistaken every drop equals 17.9 ppm, or one degree. I may be wrong, my kit is down in the fishroom, it's past 1 am, lights out hours ago.

I'll double check tomorrow morning, see how good my memory is, or isn't.

Thanks for your response mate! would be great to put this headache to an end! :)

I have the kit... hang on :good:

Right... the conversion chart is on the opposite side to the English instructions on the folded paper in the box. Tolak is spot on..... 1 drop = 1 degree or 17.9ppm.

Yes, I can second that confirmation from my kit, that each drop is one German degree or 17.9 (mg/L or ppm).

Since each drop you put in is covering the whole 17.9ppm territory and the reaction takes a moment, it helps to give the tube a little "swirl" after each drop (so don't drip the drops in too quickly!) ...otherwise your reading could be a degree off.
