hi guys,

just registered today n think this is a great site - glad i found it

ive got a 5ft Juwel tank but the problem is that ive got alot of algea of the wood stuff i have in my tank - whats the best thing to treat this?

Hi, what type of algae is it? (ie. what does it look like)

If it is a brown sludge and is actively growing on bogwood then try taking it out and either boil it or pour boiling water over it. You also could dip it in a bleach solution but do rinse thoroughly afterwards.

As with green algae make sure sunlight does not fall directly on the tank and have your lights on for no more that 8 hours a day.
