Help My Betta

It looks like you'll have to treat with bacterial meds. It looks like he may have columnaris which is highly infectious.

It would be best to treat with Myxazin and Pimafix if you can get some. The sooner you can treat the better the odds of him recovering.

Sounds like he was probably already sick when you got him and the stress of the move hasn't helped him either.

You'll have to treat the whole tank.....so I would leave him where he is for now.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Hope you get him sorted Daniel....he looks like a lovely boy. Such a shame that you're having such a bad time after just having him for a day.

I would also go to the lfs you got him from and tell them. Cos if he was in with other fish then it's quite likely they have it too.

i was gutted this morning i woke up rushed downstairs to find him floating on the top of the tank is a water change what i need to get rid of the ammonia level as would really like to keep them i have had three gorgeous ones. one was eaten by my filter and died another just died for no reason and this one died cause of this. anything you can tell me as i am going to the fish shop today and if possible i could get another one.

If you want to keep a betta I would buy a tank of its own.
your ph of 6 is not ideal for betta it has to be 6.5 to 7.5.
Also neon tetra will nip at his fins.
R.I.P.

Sorry to hear you lost your boy :( but please don't rush into buying another until you've got everything set up perfectly for him. Also make sure you've got some basic meds to hand just in case anything does go wrong. They won't cover all eventualities but will mean you are a little prepared especially if you can't get to an lfs easliy and have to rely on someone else to take you.

Anything from 3 to 5 gal. Don't like to see betta in less than 3 gallons, as the time you have added substrate, filter, heater, ornaments, plants there isn't much room left for the fish.
As for a good lfs not sure as I don't live in scotland.

im not going to rush into getting a new one as it would be cruel to do the same thing again. what meds should i get to keep. is there any good online places to get decent betta tanks cheap and with everything. thanks

Bacterial meds myxazin or anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Just a whitespot med. That's all I keep.

So sorry to hear about your boy

We always have Anti Internal Bacteria, Melafix, Myxazin and aquarium salt in the house.

As said before....get yourself a nice little setup for a Betta Bachelor pad. Have a look on ebay too......we got a couple of tanks really cheap on there.

whats your ebay name and i can look to see about buying one from you. so how many bettas do you keep netty? i would love to have success with these fish they are the most gorgeous type of fish i have seen.

We don't sell on ebay.....we sell any babies on our website in my siggie below.

We have about 30 - 40 at the moment. They are very beautiful fish and have such different personalities too.

wow that must be great does it cost a lot to run all your tanks for them. what is 3 gallons in litres as i don't understand all the gallon stuff i prefer to see it in litres. what type of tanks do you have for your bettas so i can search the make and buy one.
