Help! Darth Is Ill :(

Well he is still with us today thankfully. He looked in such a state last night that I said my goodbyes to him :( I know, I know - what a drama queen, eh? He still looks in bad shape but all i can do is wait and hope the meds kick in before it is too late. He is still eating which is good, but is spending most of his time on the gravel, which scares me - he has always enjoyed a certain leaf of a certain plant, about halfway up the tank. I can't stop worrying about him, wish i was not at work... not home till late tonight and it is such a long time to wait to see if he is OK.

Thanks Maddie. Just keep your fingers crossed for him... I hope I treated him in time, but this just appeared from nowhere :(

Awwww Tibby I've got everything crossed for your little man and hope he pulls through. You're not being a drama queen at all.....I feel the same way about my guys and it's awful to lose them. We've even delayed a trip away to stay home and look after a sick Betta   Big hugs xxx

Thanks Netty. He is still hanging in there... doesn't seem any worse, but doesn't seem any better either. Still eating though, so things are looking hopeful.

Did you add a bacterial med.

The best of luck, and I hope he'll soon be better.
I'm afraid we've probably all been where you are, know how you feel, and our hearts are with you.
Got my toes crossed since I'm using my hands - but with Wilder on the case, your chances just skyrocketed.

Its hard to say really as uk over the counter meds are only good when you catch things early and there only mild cases.
You can double dose with the anti internal bacteria med by interpet but only in issolation.
A member contacted interpet saying the med wasn't doing anything and he told him to double dose in severe cases.

OK, things have changed a little... the white scales now look fuzzy, like cotton wool. And Splodge has a tiny fuzzy bit on him, too. Do I do a big water change and then treat for fungus???

will do as soon as I get home. is a 50% water change enough to remove the existing meds? Can't run carbon as I use a sponge filter.

It should be fine as meds enzymes only work at full capacity for about 24 hours. I.e the effect wears off hence the dose once a day that is on most packages just try not to stress him out as always. Good luck! :good:
