Heater Setting

Hey guys
im unsure how to use my heater
there is a black knob ontop of it but im unsure what why to turn it to make it hotter
and my thermoniter isnt showing any heat measure so im ussure how hot the tank is
its warm but . . Yeahh

i would sugest go get a thermometer either from your local lfs or off say ebay,wont cost your more than a tenner.least that way you can see what the temp is doing rather than going by dial on the heater.

A tank should almost never feel warm to your hand. Even water at 80F, 27C, seems to feel cool to your hand. An alcohol thermometer is dirt cheap and is an essential tool. As far as deciding which way to turn the knob on the heater, the direction that gives you a pilot light when you turn the knob is the direction for a higher temperature.
