Having Trouble With Odessa Barbs

my odessa barbs are keep going for my male guppy which is colourful and he always is at the bottom of the tank now (hiding) i have 3 barbs in and i have 2 female guppies which are prengant (nealry ready) and they leave the females alone i ve put the biggest odessa barb in the Plastic Breeding Trap, i done this because he s always showing the littler ones how to go about nipping so i put him in the Plastic Breeding Trap
and so far the tank has been fine what should i do

how big is the tank?either eccept it or rehome either the gupps of barbs..

Barbs probably should be not mixed with any species of fish that has long flowing fins/tail. I have some odessa barbs and yes they can get a bit nippy. They usually stick to each other though.


They are best kept in groups of 6 or more at the minimum. What size tank are they in?

my tank is 130litres its just under 3ft (length) and 1.5ft,1.5ft. would it not put stress on the fish? or could i put more plants in so the guppies can swim in and out at the bottom

I would be inclined to rehome the guppy's myself, as above poster said, smaller barbs tend to be abit nippy,waving a flowing tail in front of them is just winding them up
depends however bet your a guppy lover

does it put stress on then or anything

what being nipped alot? depends,if its relentless and theyve taken to hiding then yes you will need to rehome something,sorry

If you want, try planting alot of plants either plastic or real, with some bogwood and rocks, this may help unless you already have this set up...

i ve got 7 plants in and abit of bogwood what am going to do add about 6 more plants in see if that helps
