I'm having one of those days where I'm picking on things in the tank and worrying about if I've got them wrong. This time, it's the flow, and I filmed the tank. I don't know why, I'm just wondering if it is correct to have the return flow from the filter pointed into the corner like it is; the filter is in the back left corner of the tank, and the return flow is pointed to the front left corner/left side pane to break up the flow so the Minnows can swim about more freely as the current could be far too strong directed right out into the centre of the tank (this was on the advice of Byron back in March).

I've probably got other things about the flow wrong, even if that is correct...the larger plants at the back don't sway much, it's mainly the ones at the front. I don't know if I've got any dead spots; there might possibly be one behind the air stone in the back right corner - I don't push the airstone right into the corner, it's usually ever so slightly forward (only ever so slightly though - about an inch) from it along the right side of the tank - and normally suck detritus from beneath it when I move it about during my weekly maintenance. I've also placed a java fern along the back and slightly left from the back right corner, right next to the airstone, so that may or may not cause issues. In a tank this size and with the flow from the filter already quite strong despite being turned into the corner, I might just have to accept there isn't much I can do about this possible dead spot (I'm not sure it'd be wise for the airstone to be right in the corner anyway, perhaps it'd trap detritus behind it and create a dead spot).

Too late to edit this part...

I've also placed a java fern along the back and slightly left from the back right corner (about one to two inches at a guess), so it's right next to the airstone, and that may or may not cause issues; this can be seen in the video between 0:42 to 1:06, although from 0:54 it is more easily visible.

I think it looks okay to me.
However I do believe that javas do alot better not planted and the flow of water being able to reach their roots.

The java ferns aren't planted, I just rest them on top of the gravel.
