I've had the Hang On Tank Magnum Canister Filter for about 9 months now, and haven't had a problem until recently. I noticed the outtake tube wasn't nearly as strong and had begun pushing out ALOT of air bubbles, so I dismantled it for a cleaning. Upon putting it back together, the problem had only gotten worse, and you could hear the water sloshing around inside. It was even weaker, with even more bubbles. I thought maybe something was stuck in the tubes, so I dismantled it and gave it another more thorough cleaning.
Now, this thing is sucking in water like I've never seen it, pushing all the fish around, and I don't have any weak swimmers! And the water is not like half air bubbles. Help anyone? I'm really disappointed and thinking about returning. Since the problem began I've had 2 fish randomly die, I don't know if the two are related, but I'm not happy. I could also see traces of ammonia in the test, I'm sure this is related.
