the one and only
about a week and a half ago i got some mollies from my local lfs ( as im new in the area i relied on what i had been told) could have died when a day later they all came down with columaris 
just a little while after spendng £85 stocking my tank!! i really didnt think there was anything i could do about it, except seek help from wilder in the emergency section... so i started treating them and they were still dropping like flies.. lost one this morning too 
i had to rip my fish net up so needed another one, and also needed an different brand of oscar food, and thought may as well get some more treatment and some fish flake..
anyway i went out of nosiness to see if the other mollies in the shop were sick, they looked fine, but saying that they have prob all be sold and replaced, and one of the employees came to chat to me .. how are the angels etc.. i told him all about teh mollies and the fact that they have almost wiped out my tank with this illness, and he called the deputy manager,, he offered to replace the fish that i had lost, i explained that i wasnt willing to take any more fish from the shop,as they run a huge filter for all tanks system, he could see why i was saying no thanks, i explained that id been treating and seeking advice from here and showed him hat i was treating with, he said come back in on tuesday before 12 .. im going to have a word with the manager as i can see how upset you are and that you have done what you can to treat the fish, and then he said come across to the counter ...he put all my shopping in a bag and said there would be no charge for any of it..i will be going back on tuesday, but only to inform the manager what happens when your tanks run of one filter, and ill also tell him how pleased i was with the courtesy and help his staff offered me
i am really peeved that ive lost a lot of fish, but its not at all like they shirked responsibilty, and thats worth it weight in gold when it comes to an lfs (( not to say ill be buying more fish from them mind you ))

Once QT is complete, if they are still healthy, move to the main tank, where good care will keep them healty. UV on the longer tearm will remove the fishes immune system, as they need to be exposed to parasites e.t.c to maintain anti-bodies and fight disease off. UV in a home tank is masking poor care, wrapping your fish in too much cotton wool or just wasting your electricity. Either way, it's not doing good...
