Hi everyone, I've just got home from work to find that my Black Phantom Delta Guppy has given birth to about 30 tiny little guppies!
because of her colouration, I was unable to see the gravid spot and she wasn't plump or fat at all, so this is totally unexpected, the only problem is... I'm working all day tomorrow, and all day sunday so won't really get the chance to grab any specialised foods for fry... all I have are some Hikari micro pellets, bog standard tropical flakes and some King Britiish tropical mini pellets, what can i do to feed the fry tonight/tomorrow/day after until I can get something specifically for them?

Also what's best to give them when i actually get the food for them... if you get what I mean :p

Apologies for the lengthy post, pretty darn happy as these babies are unexpected!! :D

They don't need special food; just give them whatever you're feeding the adults, ground up small.

I just feed my fry flakes that have been crushed really well, but I do know that there are some breeders that do go for the specialty baby food.  I say feed them what you feel comfortable with.  I think most of my fry have all survived off the crushed flakes though.
