guppies :)

Tips on breeding Guppies....hmmm. Okies.

1. Make sure you have room for all the fry. You're going to get lots of fry, every month, and they are all going to need homes. You obviously can't keep all of them, unless you have like a million tanks, so have homes lined up.
2. If you want the fry to survive, and do well, Fry tanks are the best. For Guppies, a 5-10 gallon should be enough. Sponge filter, heater, sand, or small gravel, and maybe an airstone will be best for that.
3. Once the fry are born, you have to feed them! Give them some kind of fry food for the first few weeks, like Hikari Fry Food, or Tetramin Fry bites. Baby Brine Shrimp will also work, but try to vary their diet. Once they get off of that, you can move on to finely crushed flakes, and freeze dried of frozen foods, such as Bloodworms, Brine Shrimp, Daphnia...etc. You can also keep supplimenting in the Baby Brine Shrimp through this.
4. Try to seperate the sexes as soon as you can. Inbreeding in the family too much can cause problems, and a ton more fry.

And that's about all I can think of right now...best of luck breeding! And I can't stress how important it is that you have room, or places for all the babies to go.
