Guppies eating...

I got three fancy guppies. And got some guppy food. They aren't flakes or pellets, but they are grains. Colorful grains. Not as fine as sand, but still small. I need to know how much to feed. And how many times a day. Thanks! Any other info on guppies is also appreciated.

put about 9-10 grains seeing they r small, and since u have 3 they can have about 3 grains each, thats a good amount for small guppies,

can i see a pic of ur guppies please!!!

Well, it looks pretty neat. But i'm not going to take a picture now cause they're sleeping. It's very late. I'll take one tomorrow.

I got a smal spiky conch shell. Should I put it in? I heard that shells dissolve a little and raise the PH, but don't guppies like higher PH anyway?

I think you should keep the shell out for a while and let the guppies stabilize themselves first


As for feeding, feed as much as they can eat in 2-3 minutes and feed 4-6 times daily (some feed 2-3 times but I feed a lot!!!!)
The fish will grow fast!

what does the packet say, but yes usually all they can eat in 2 -4 minutes

How long do guppies live? How old will they usually be when you get them from the LFS?

Guppies can live for 2 or 3 years on average. They are quick growing fish, growing from fry to adult in just a few months so most guppies that are in pet stores are probably less than 6 months old.
