I was finally able to get a couple decent shots of my new female peacock gudgeon. She's a zippy little thing buzzing all around the tank. I couldn't get any of the male though because he's quite shy and likes to spend his time in the caves I made him

Also is a picture of my licorice gouramis. Still not sure which species they are as there are a lot that look pretty similar.

And lastly just a pic of my sworides and platies in a bit of a feeding frenzy :p

Nice gudgeons and OH MY GOD you have a lot of platys :p

Tha males in the cave a lot, and the female is all over huh? That sounds like usual peacock gudgeon behavior to me ;) Try fattening up the female and you might get them to spawn

Barracuda - I'm not sure what kind of sand it is :*) I just get it from my lfs and they sell it in a big black bin by the kilo. I guess you can buy it in big bags but I've never taken notice of the name that's written on it.

Dwarfs - It was your dad who got me into keeping the gudgeons :p They are lovely fish  I'm trying to get both of them to eat but so far only today did I see the female take a piece of bloodworm. I haven't seen the male take anything I've offered. It's only been 3 days since I got them though.

Yes I've got a lot of platys..they are pretty things I think :D

Good luck on getting them to eat, they can be picky :/

How many platys do you have? I counted around 13 in that last picture

Ok thanks, One more question...

Do you add aquarium salt in the tank with your Live Bearers?

nice fish, how big do those gudgeons get? just kinda curious, very nice looking fish.

LOL, that pic with the platies is kinda funny. Reminds me of the gulls in Finding Nemo.... "mine! mine! mine!"

I am so, so, SO jealous of the gudgeons and licorice gouramis. I have been wanting to keep both of those for ages, but can never seem to find any. One day I guess I'll just have to break down and order them online, but I hate those shipping charges :(

My LFS had some of those Gudgeons in recently, what are they like in a community?

Any special requirements?

Those Gudgions are GEORGEOUS! I'm still really new to fishkeeping, so there is a LOT I have never seen, and by chance I have NEVER seen any of those before! I think I'm in love

nice pics. i too have been yearning for some licorice gouramis. i hear they are very easy to breed.
