The usual supplier of my fish food has stopped selling certain pellets, so I had to trawl through fleabay looking for a similar food. Found some floating sticks, same ingredients etc as thier favorite food, ordered them, ordered spirulina sticks (Chops's favorite) plus various other foods comming to around £45 (will last about 3 months). The food looks good, smells good, popped a bit of each in the tanks, and no one will touch it!!! even the disposal units (Texas) wont touch it. Its still floating in the tanks 2 hours after I put it in. :grr: Even Chops who eats absolutely everything keeps taking one swimming up and down the tank with it hanging out of his mouth like a cigar then spitting it out

 Typical.

My other half had the same thing occur with our siamese and bengal cats not too long ago, she wasn't overly impressed either

Yes fish can be fussy eaters, worse than kids! I try to avoid the problem by giving them a mixture of food and vary it on different days so I won't have problems if I run out of anything. Flake pellets in different sizes dried bloodworm algae wafers fresh veg =my fishfood sounds like a restaurant menu.I've even fed my goldfish on tropical food when theirs ran out and they ate it.

Mine get fed lots of different foods, I think the problem is because I was running short and waiting for the food to be delivered they got spoilt with the frozen foods!!

Lol oops!

Well do tell where you got this food from so we can avoid buying!!

Would be interesting to see if my hoover chocolate would eat them!

fleabay!! there is nothing wrong with the food (least I dont think so), The rotkeil babies eat it

I have never had a fish that would eat floating food never ever in 6/7 years of keeping fish. Ive bought a lot of products on the basis I thoguht they were sinking then saw them float and thought great that tub cost £10.... I just stick to tetra Prima now.

If it was anyone but you Star I would say go to a fish auction, I got a kilo of Tetra Prima for £3.80 :D But obviously there were a lot of fish on sale as well haha..... I still regret not getting those black cories but that was at a time my tank was rather full.

I have tetra prima, ordered 500g of that  most annoyed because I asked the seller first if they were slow sinking. The Texas & Chops like to feed from the surface, but this lot I have bought does not sink at all ever  Tinker & Tailor the other 2 oscars are eating it now and Harry (red spot) seems to rather like it :hyper: but everyone else looks like they would rather starve!

I have recently bought food from fastfishfood.com and all my fish love it, it's a good price and they are quick with delivery..... maybe give them a go?

They also have a good variety of foods :good:

Brill thanks for that, just had a look :good:

you don't know picky unless you've seen me at age 3.

I paid ~£23 for my 300g tub of Tetra Prima some five months ago, which has all but come to an end, with the exception of a small amount for the Lionhead fry and "mum." Having looked on Ebay in the last few days, I see that several sellers offer 300g portion in sealed bags for ~£9, but the much better deal is to be had by buying 3000g buckets for ~£70 inc. p&p!

Incidentally star4, has Chops now gone in that tank which I saw you have now removed from your recent classified advert?

No, that tank has been taken up by some of the young rotkeils, Chops is in a much bigger tank. :good:

Warning on the "tetra prima" on ebay, I bought some cheap one and it was a copy, the fish still ate it, but the granules were very small and powdery, will pm you the link to the shop I used for my tetra prima that I just recieved, its excellent, larger granules, smells lovely and its vacuum sealed. :good:

Sorry no, Don't have any coupons...... Fish seem to love the food especially the bloodworm treat sticks!!!

Recommend people give them a go..... much easier than the frozen blocks but wouldn't say a substitute more of an alternative to add to the diet!
