so after a failed attempt at growing riccia on a rock(my blue ram :rip: picked it to shreds) i want to try it again. The few strands of it i had left floating at the top is now a fistful of the stuff! But anyway, what's a good type of rock to grow it on? Any tips besides using fishing line? Could i just glue it with coral glue or something? I've already read the pinned topic a while ago. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

You could just use a hair net..I find it easiest to use because you can tighten it real well, and just use a zip tie to keep it in place. Works great for me, but its different for everyone. You may want to try it, I don't think gluing it is the best idea though, but you may want others' opinions.

yea i've heard of using a hair net but i went to CVS they didn't have one. Where can i get ahold of a hair net on long island?

Hi
Riccia cant grow onto bog-wood its a floating plant.
Leave it on the surface to multiply and then use a hairnet or bun net to wrap the Riccia around your wood for a period of time when it starts growing long towards the surface thats when you re-start the process again.
Also it looks best covered on small lava rock.

Try using one of those scrunched up netting things that you find in the shower, but only women know what they are for. When you unpick it, you will find that it is a long tube, and the holes in the netting are perfect for Riccia. Here is my before and after:

ya know what i actually have some media bag scraps, i suppose i could use that too. great idea! So wait, the riccia wont actually attach itself to anything?

no, riccia wont attach, it needs to be held down.
