Hi everyone
I'm safe, well and have settled into my new home for 4 months here in the Falkland Islands. The weather is very odd; sunshine one minute, snow the next and pretty much windy all the time.
I have 40 minutes internet access a day, sometimes more so I should be able to be fairly active.
I've just started writing my articles for PFK. The PFK editor has given me the go-ahead to submit 3 x 2500 word articles so I"m pretty excited. They'll concentrate on the high-tech, new school approach to planted tanks and will, in my opinion, give a more appropriate and relevant view of the hobby than the current series that is being published.
What is also exciting is that I'm planning a whole new set up. Faced with the choice of either upgrading my currently empty Juwel Rio 125 or going the whole hog and buying a new tank - I want the latter.
I feel that my abilities now both technically and aquascaping wise do justify a bigger, better set up so with this in mind this is what I"m currently thinking. Subject to change a million and one time before I get enough cash together.
90L x 45W x 60cm H (36x18x24) all glass, braceless, rimless high-clarity German glass (ADA stock) - 255 Litre, 67 US Gallon
Lighting - Giesmann Infinity 1 x 150W Metal Halide , 4 x 24W T5
Filter - Eheim 2028 Pro II, Hydor 300W in-line heater, ADA lily pipe and inlet
CO2 - 2Kg cylinder, ADA Beetle Pollen 40
Substrate - ADA Aqua Soil, ADA Bright Sand
Open top, ADA Style Nature Aquarium
Gotta dash, 40 mins. is up!
