Green neons are (usually) Paracheirodon simulans. This is an interesting species that looks more like regular neons, but needs to be kept more like a cardinal. So whereas neons prefer coolish water (around 22-24 C), like cardinals green neons must be kept rather warm (26-28 C). Also, whereas neons do fairly well in moderately hard water, green neons need soft, slightly acidic water to do well. I'd also make the point green neons are very small, very shy and somewhat delicate, so aren't "good community fish" in the general sense. Much better kept in a big group on their own in a shady planted tank. Their longevity in community tanks with hard water and big tankmates is very limited.
So, to recap, pH 6.5-7, hardness 5-10 degrees dH, temperature 26-28 C, and only alongside very small, very peaceful tankmates. Lots of shade vital!
