What's so great about the python? Is it that you can run a hose from the sink to the tank? Also, my husband insists on emptying the dirty fish water into the toilet. Sounds like many people use the sink.. Hi to all, Wendy.

Imagine doing a water change on a 350 gallon tank with buckets and an ordinary siphon! Python hooks the faucet, so dirty water goes right down the sink and then fresh water goes right into the tank! No hauling buckets around!

Hi.I live in England please can you explain what a python hook is as I would love to buy it.My tank holds 400
litres so you will have an idea how tired I get lugging water.Also i have to move the tank any suggestions on how to do it.Thanks Josie

Python is a brand name and I don't think it is common in the UK, but I don't live there, so how would I know?

i dont think they sell them in the UK, and they are supposedly expenisive to ship there. i saw a thread on it once, there is a DIY somewhere, i will try and find it.

Well, I finally gave in and bought one of the eheim sludge extractors!! got a good price on line, though it actually looks like it might have been used once or twice!! But it is as good as everyone says--the dustbuster of fishtanks!

My only problem is that the suction "jet" tube keeps sliding off the bottom of the thing as I use it. I think I remember reading others' problems with the same thing. If anyone has had this problem, I'd appreciate any suggestions. I'll probably just try to tape it with duct/gaffer tape!
