Grass Plant

i bought a potted grass plant and it has been reproducing lately. i have about 6-7 plants with there roots all tied togater. can i seperate them without killing the plant? it really looks bad with 6-7 plants all balled together.

i have separated my valis and my camboba carolina and they lived on perfectly after that. Even though they slowed down a little (probably because I unrooted them) they soon began to grow quickly.
