Since Gouramis have labyrinth gills, if you jammed one in a fish bowl like a betta would it be okay?

Not that I want to do that in the future, I was just wondering ...

Gouramis usually get larger than bettas and they require more room to swim. I think they produce more waste (I could be wrong) so they need filtration. Also, gouramis like to be kept in groups.

Gourami's labyrinth organ isn't as developed as bettas and they actually need pretty good circulation in their tanks.

The only labyrinth fish besides bettas that I've seen do ok... not good... ok in bowls are paradise fish. Did you know the paradise fish was the first fish to ever be brought to america and kept as a pet in bowls and such? Intesting fact...
