True enough, I've not seen pythons sold anywhere round here.

It's true about the bingo wings! I've lost 3 stone so far ( fully expecting some flapping and invoulantary waving in the underarm area ) and they're still nowhere near as bad as some people's . Lugging waterbuckets FTW!

ONE QUESTION =How do you actually get wAter to flow out of siphon tube into bucket/loo? This sounds like a great idea and will give it a go, saves buckets overflowing onto carpet. I have an ordinary gravel vac siphon and always have problems getting it started -don't fancy sucking and getting a mouthful of tankwater.

I've got one of those gravel vacs that you put in the water and just shake - it starts it off automatically. They are cheap and they make them all different sizes for different size aquariums. The extra long tubing I attatched to it I got 8 meters of for just £12 on Ebay.Just run the other end of the tube off into the nearest sink or as I do to save mess straight down the loo and then just flush when finished!

The tap on my kitchen sink you cant get a connector to fix on it - its an awkward shape

6 months?!

I spent 9 months of 2 foot tank and then 3 years of 4 foot tank using buckets before I figured out that a hose would be SOOO much easier!!

Now whenever I say I'm going to do a water change, the kids fight over who gets the other end of the hose to water the garden lol.

Only thing I want now is a U shaped piece of pipe or something which I can attach to my hose so that when I refill the tank I just have to hook it over the edge instead of trailing the hose over the alcove light fixture!

You could try attaching a piece of wire coat hanger bent to a u shape to the hose with rubber bands.....
