Good Breeding Tank?

i am looking for a breeding tank for my corys but need something cheap. Would this be any good?

the height isnt needed for corys so i would go for a lower tank that has a bigger footprint. clearseal tanks can be bought very cheap new from lfs, they are a no frills tank that are ideal for breeding etc.

they will appreciate as much floor space as you can give them. i use to breed my corys in a 3ft tank and they were very happy in there. i had a group of 15 in it.

I used to use a standard 2ft tank (about 54 litres) for breeding with trios, where parents were removed after spawn. For larger breeding groups, I would of course recommend 3*1*1 ft tank, but the fry are more difficult to raise in larger tanks. For dwarf Corys even a 12*10*10 inch one would work.

Yes, they work. You can even use them as tanks, as long as you don't mind being able to not see from the side. I have bred Corys in them before.

Never heard of them! Lol. They are ok with a heater etc.not sure my tesco wil have them

do i need to clean it to get rid of chemicals in a special way?
And for breeding leave it empty? No substrate etc

Have you already got a spare filter running on your main tank that can be moved across to the pink love tub? Don't forget to cover the intake well enough to prevent cory fry being sucked into the filter.

I think I read somewhere recently that it is a good idea to give cories sand that matches their main body colour, so that they are more camouflaged, which might help them feel happier to breed? No idea if they might appreciate some spawning mops or not without reading articles like the ones over at planetcatfish (which I think often involve big water changes with cool water, possibly even with a period of a lower water level).

Perhaps a good clean with vinegar and a good rinse might be enough to be reasonably sure its safe for the fish?

Ye got filter etc! Just wasnt sure if they needed sand in there or not.i have them laying in the main tank but they always get eaten to quick!
When u say vinegar is it same as goes on chips i knw i sound dumb! Or other white vinegar?and how diluted?
I would prob only have it half full. I mite be able to use a storage tub i have already but it doesnt have a lid!
