Going To Have To Give Up Fish Keeping

Some kids are just darn stubborn and some go through naughty phases. Often they grow out of it. A lot of parents worry about autism or ADHD when their kid does something they don't expect! I looked up symptoms of autism myself when my kids were younger and it helped to reassure me that they weren't showing the classic symptoms. You know your child best of course and if there is real cause for concern it's best to diagnose early.

If you have smaller tanks for betta and guppies then it sounds like they are simply too accessible. Is there anywhere you can move them out of his reach? My tanks are raised on stands or high up out of reach and my 3yo can't reach the top. I have to lift him up if he wants to feed them.

The 55 is on a stand that came with the tank. And the betta tank is on a high headboard (that is not attached to a bed.)... but he finds things to climb on to reach them! Toy bens, boxes, toys! He is very inventive....... lol.

Sounds like it's almost a game to him, and he's finding methods to continue defeating you, a very resourceful young man!  Perhaps a time out from fish keeping is the order of the day until he's a bit older and calmed down. Only other viable options that I can think of is to move tanks to rooms that you can prevent him from entering while you aren't present.
