Well I got someGhost shrimps to help keep teh uneaten food in my Betta's tanks cleaned up. Appears one of them wasn't gonan let tha thappen though..he kileld his shrimp no sooner then it hit the bottomof the tank  .

Question is I read they need iodine, is this true? And if so will this aafect my Betta or should I pull the shrimp out and let him take a Idodine bath once a week?

Thanks,

Are we talking Marine shrimps and marine beta (comets) or is this freshwater shrimps?

Ghost shrimp are brackish and do quite well in my Reef Tank...I have some that are 6 months old right now. It surprised me that they will actually do quite well in a saltwater tank.

SHrimps benefit from iodine as it helps them when they need to shed their skins. HOwever, I do not know the effect of iodine on freshwater. I know its safe to dose a marien tank with it but a freshwater is something i have no idea about sorry :dunno:
