Getting On My T*ts Now :(

Why the hell have I still got hundreds of tiny white particles floating around aimlessly in my tank?! Water changes just seem to stur up more and filtration is doing very little!! GRRRRR! Ive researched bacterial bloom but surely 1 pinch of fish food in a new tank wont do this?

Internal, some clearly weak juwel model. Gets rid of most stuff but these white specs just circulate in the middle going nowhere.

ooooh i had that be careful with it now long after i did a partial water change i had a massive bacterial bloom and had to do a 90% water change

have you considered using external filter?

yeh it uses filter floss (fairly new, should still be good) and id love an external but concidering its only an 80l I cant justify the price tag.

how often to do you clean the internal filter?
i used to have them and i ended up cleaning them weekly.
do you see any difference when you changed the floss?

Ive only had the entire setup for a little over a week, havent really done a propper filter clean. I dont think it would make a real difference anyway because the specs arnt even moving towards the filter input, they just bob up and down in the centre of the tank? Getting annoying now, id expected it to clear up in a few days but its just getting worse. As I said early, just did a water change and ended up with more then I started!

Have you tried any Filter Aid? The stuff that binds small particles together to make them bigger so that they get removed by your filter?

Anyone else tried filter aid? what did they think? Sounds pritty good but then again, so does instant bacteria in a bottle

Im not sure, I find it hard to believe that these are envolved with the cycling process therfore have no reason to believe they'll go away once its finished. Id like to just get them out of the way now to have a good clear water to start with unless im wrong to do so?
